NZ Coromandel here we come

We are now heading towards Anglers Lodge on the west side of the Coromandel Penninsula. The last couple of days we will spend at a place run by a Swedish family of three generations. 

NZ White water rafting....

OMG!

We all have different levels of fear factors, mine is definitely rough water....So hubby booked a white water rafting and I was not planning on going. But the pressure was on and I went.

The first drop was not to bad...

 There was a point where you could get out before the 7 meter drop.....But after some serious convincing from the people around, we decided to stay...only 20% risk of flying out of the boat...

 Yeah!!!!!! The only person still in the boat is....

 Marcus!!!!

In the stream....again

I just love it...

although there might be snakes in the water...

or in the bushes...

leeches, spiders, frogs, other creatures....

It is very satisfying to push the limits!

Rumble rumblar till Tung Po

This is probably the most cultural and craziest Hong Kongish experience I will get.

We went to Tung Po for our last "Rumble" before summer holiday.

OMG! What a crazy place...I have no words for it!

Some days are just very good days....

I have managed to have a very efficient day today

 My 8k trail running this morning...

 followed by a dip in the pool and some strength and yoga.

 Off for a cup of coffee and then off to the library for some studying.

 And after that a lovely lunch with a lovely lady, whom I am going to miss terribly after this summer..

Back to the books again...

 Today we did our "backyard hike" all the way down to the Country Club and it was totally amazing.

I just cant get enough of this!

Dragon boat training. -Focus!

It is nice to challenge yourself with new things in life.

Like dragonboating for example...

 I can´t say that it is very motivating:

leaving the house at 8:15am on a Saturday morning,

in pouring rain, going to all the way (20 min;-) to Sai Kung,

get into the smelly dirty water, scoop the 1000s of litres of water out of the boat.....

Until:

you are in position, rowing the boat off shore,

with our coach, as a team, calm and powerful strokes....

Totally focused.

Sunny day at the BMX park

Ok, so most people go to the beach on a blazing hot and sunny day.

Except us...we go to the BMX park in the middle of nowhere..

no shade whatsoever....

hot and sweaty...

nice and bright..

 All the boys are having fun...

 Mom is refusing to let go of her umbrella...

and are absolutely NOT going on one of those bikes. 

Happy, sweaty Hong Kong-life!

 All our guests who comes to visit have to do at least one hike, that´s mandatory.

Today´s hike was the MacLehose 2, the top notch hike in HK.

 And of course we finished off at a roof-top restaurant.
